The community centre, located in the centre of the building, between the cafe and library, is a dedicated space, available for use by local organisations and groups.
The Community Centre is for a range of activities throughout the day and week, mostly provided by third parties – local clubs and organisations that need a warm, welcoming and maintained space for their events and meetings.
Local community, voluntary and faith organisations can hire the room using the Community Rate (£nil). Organisations which are charging people to attend or are commercial entities will be charged £15 per hour.
When not being hired, the Community Centre is well stocked with a range of books available for £1 each
As with the rest of the building, the community centre has access to broadband, the cafe and library.
From January 2025, we use a system called Hallmaster to manage the bookings.
First, we ask that you read the Hire Agreement, including Terms and Conditions, before booking.
Next, have a look at the video to explain how the booking system works.
Then you are ready to make a booking via this link. You will receive an acknowledgement email confirming your provisional booking. Once approved, this will be followed by an invoice for payment.
